Working with Hestia, my experience

 Working with Hestia is a joyful thing. Her love and patience is undeniable. She blesses beyond your wildest dreams. I have been blessed beyond measure. I was in a dark place and worshiping her has brought me into the light. She is the first and the last, daughter of Cronos and Rhea, sister of the mighty Zeus, eternal virgin whom guards and tends to the hearth fires.  I first learned of her when I became a cottage witch. I had been searching for a name to what I was becoming, I had a strong desire to be at home. To become a better homemaker and care for my family. I wanted to experiment with cooking new and exciting foods, experiment with baking, keeping my home (apartment) tidy and well loved and all things that represent and honor Hestia. I have always had a facination with fireplaces and candles, I had a deep sense of home magic and a love for learning all things to do with cottage magic. Its a wonderful path to be on, I have never felt such a connection to any diety and to be honest I felt lost until Hestia called to me. I urge you to learn more about Her and explore the path of the cottage or hearth witch. There is so much to learn, its a facinating journey, and one worth taking. Hestia is a breath of fresh air and a wonderful warm and inviting diety. 

I began my cottage witch journey with a love of all things home. I wanted to have more of a earthy connection to my home and to share with my family. I have been a housewife for most of my life, a few years ago I began to feel disconnected and honestly lost. I didnt understand why god was not answering my prayers, I didnt feel the connection most Christians say they have. I began to read and experiment with paganism, I spent years trying to figure out my path. I did spells and rituals but never felt a need to do high magic, only informal and casual low magic. Ill be honest, half of the time I dont even cast a circle. I love to cook and I started incorporating cooking spells for nurshiment, healing and protection for my husband and two sons. I was browsing the internet one night and came across Cottage witchcraft and it hit me. I was essentially doing things that a cottage witch does and that sparked a quest to learn as much as I could. Then came the call. I felt a draw to learn about Hestia. She is facinating but not a lot is written about her. But it is still a fullfilling road to be on, learning about her and cottage witchcraft. I again, urge you to learn more about her, you too may find yourself in the warm embrace that is Hestia.
